September 17, 2017In conjunction with the Getty's Pacific Standard Time LA/LA initiative, the Whittier Museum will be open an extra day, Sunday Sept. 17 from 1 to 4 pm. The Whittier Museum is always free. Come and see our SUR biennial and LA/LA exhibit, "Postura."

September 30, 2017The exhibit will kick off at 10 a.m. with a presentation by renowned earthquake authority Dr. Dennis Mileti starting at 11 a.m. at the Whittier City School District office. Dr. Mileti will discuss “The First 7 Days after the Quake.” After the presentation, the exhibit’s grand opening will take place at the Whittier Museum.

September 30, 2017Arrive at noon to experience L.A. County’s “Shaky Quaky” earthquake simulator. Guests will be able to enjoy refreshments before Mayor Joe Vinatieri officially opening of Quake City '87.
